GGuillermo Amezcua is president of the Americas region. In this role, he is responsible for leading a cross-functional team that works to support the optimal delivery of kidney care and vital organ therapies across the region. Amezcua also leads Renal Care Services clinics in Latin America, which provides care to over 40,000 people with chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, or end stage kidney failure.
Previously, Amezcua was general manager at Baxter International, responsible for the U.S. Kidney Care business. Over his 18 years with the company, he held positions of increasing responsibility in Baxter’s hospital and kidney businesses and across several functional areas including marketing, sales, supply chain, and finance. Amezcua began his career in corporate banking with Bank of Montreal and later with CapitalSource (now Pacific Western Bank).
He also serves on the Board of the Center for Healthcare Innovation and has previously served on the Board of the American Diabetes Association of Illinois and Wisconsin.
Amezcua received a bachelor’s degree from DePauw University and a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University—Kellogg School of Management.
